Job Overview:
The Housekeeper is dedicated to maintaining the facility in a clean, safe, and comfortable condition, serving the residents to the best of our ability while promoting an independent lifestyle across all levels of care.
Work Responsibilities:
- Execute designated duties in accordance with daily work assignments.
- Empty and disinfect waste receptacles as necessary.
- Maintain the cleanliness and polish of furnishings, fixtures, niches, room heating and cooling units, and other surfaces within resident rooms, recreation areas, and similar spaces on a daily basis or as directed.
- Thoroughly clean, sanitize/disinfect, and polish the lavatory fixtures.
- Perform daily cleaning of windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, restrooms, and entrance/exit pathways, or as otherwise directed.
- Clean floors through sweeping, dusting, moist or wet mopping, and disinfecting, in addition to carpet cleaning by vacuuming, spot cleaning, deodorizing, extracting, and dry cleaning.
- Maintain walls and ceilings through washing, scrubbing, dusting, spot cleaning, and similar methods.
- Eliminate dirt, dust, grime, film, and other contaminants from surfaces employing appropriate cleansing and disinfecting agents.
- Maintain cleanliness in corridors, staircases, and elevators as designated.
- Dispose of waste and refuse in appropriate containers, and re-line the garbage bin with the correctly sized liner.
- Ensure that vacant areas are cleaned as designated. (Daily in healthcare / fortnightly in other regions)
- Carry out terminal cleansing procedures, as directed, upon a resident’s discharge or transfer to another room or area.
- Carries out additional responsibilities as assigned
